As I mentioned in a blog post earlier this month, reading was a big thing for me in 2018. But I only read one type of book—THRILLERS! They are my absolute favorite, and there’s nothing like a suspenseful page turner. I work in corporate America, so I read plenty of articles for my job, business, industry, etc. When I want to read a book, it is for pure entertainment. It helps me shut off and disconnect from life—for me, it truly contributes to self-care.
The main reason I picked up reading was to help me break the habit of being on my phone. I still have a ways to go, but this has been a step in the right direction. I joined the local library, so this is essentially a habit that doesn’t cost a thing. Here is my top reads list of 2018. Most of these are recommendations from my mom, family and friends.
A Welcome Murder by Robin Yocum
A once-famous baseball player returns after a stint in jail. His plan is to come home and collect some money, but one of the locals is murdered. Who did it? You will be guessing the entire book.
The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn
This was my favorite. An absolute page turner. It is about a woman who is a recluse and sees something horrible in the house across the way. Is it something she really saw, or is it her imagination?
The Husband’s Secret by Liane Morarity
This book has excellent twists. It is about a woman who finds a letter that she is supposed to open after her husband dies. Does she open it to find out what it is?
The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks
Oh my! Did this have the ultimate twist! A woman’s ex-husband is going to get married, and she does everything she can to stop it. Is she jealous, or are there other reasons?
The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy
A tight mom group and baby go missing after a night out. Who did it? Need I say more.
Which thrillers do you recommend for me? The year has just started, and I would love to read 15 books this year.
What are some of your favorite thriller, page turners and beach reads? Send me your favorite so I can add to my list.
